Upper Iowa University head women's tennis coach Chad Fenwick announced today three student-athletes have agreed to continue their academic and athletic careers at UIU. Erin Kelley, Molly Klocke and Shelby Lilly signed National Letters of Intent and will join the Peacocks in 2006-07.
The three join Kasey Huisman, who signed her National Letter of Intent earlier this month. Upper Iowa is reinstating women's tennis in conjunction with joining the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in 2006-07. Erin Kelley (Rockford, Ill.) qualified for the Illinois State Tournament for Guilford High School in 2005. She was one-half of the #1 doubles conference championship team. Kelley is also the softball team MVP and a member of the National Honor Society. Erin is the daughter of Roma and Ray Kelley. She plans on majoring in Elementary Education at Upper Iowa. Molly Klocke (Dixon, Ill.) is a two-time state qualifier for Dixon High School. She was a first team all-conference pick in 2004 and 2005. Klocke is also a member of the honor roll. Molly is the daughter of Jan and Kevin Klocke. She has not decided on a major. Shelby Lilly (Milton, Wis.) is a state qualifier for Milton High School. She was a co-captain and team MVP. Shelby is the daughter of Susan and Roger Lilly. She plans on majoring in Elementary Education at Upper Iowa. "I am really excited to have girls of this caliber joining the team," said Fenwick. "Having athletes with previous success and winning attitudes join our new program can only help." |
