The UIU women’s tennis team traveled to Western Illinois University (Division I) for three matches this past weekend. The Peacocks were defeated by the Bulldogs, the host school, in the first match, 6-0. No doubles matches were played as the Peacocks lost each of the six singles matches. The loss dropped UIU’s record to 0-7 this spring.
Kelsey Montgomery forced her singles match to a third set tiebreaker (6-1, 1-6, 1-0) where she was defeated. Erin Kelley and Katie Rodewald were each defeated 6-2, 6-1. Mallery Cox lost her singles match 6-1, 6-2. Shelby Lilly was defeated 6-1, 6-0, while Kasey Huisman lost 6-0, 6-0. The Peacocks will return to the court later today to face Missouri-St. Louis as they look for their first Division II win of the year. |
