The Upper Iowa women's tennis team fell short in their contests on Saturday and Sunday this past weekend. Upper Iowa lost 7-0 to the UW- Milwaukee Panthers on Saturday. The team then lost on Sunday, 7-0, to Western Illinois Leathernecks. Both matches against the Division I opponents took place in Macomb, Illinois. Against the Panthers, Upper Iowa did not pick up a win in any of the matches. Kasey Huisman put in a strong effort in her singles match, but was unable to pull off the win as she lost 6-2, 6-4. On Sunday, the Peacocks fell short of victory to the Leathernecks. Upper Iowa's Kasey Huisman won the lone set of the weekend, but lost a close match, 6-3, 5-7, 10-7, at #2 singles. The Peacocks will take the court in a NSIC showdown in hopes of staying on top of the conference standings as they play the 6th of April in Marshall, Minnesota at 9 a.m. against Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs and again at 1 p.m. versus the Northern State Wolves. |
