Peacock Bat Attack Flyer and Registration Form

The Upper Iowa softball program will host the Peacock Bat Attack, a clinic that will feature instruction from Patrick Murphy, on December 15, 2007. Murphy is the Head Softball Coach at the University of Alabama and is 8th on the all-time win list of active coaches. The Iowa-native has led his team to three Southeastern Conference (SEC) Championships and has appeared in four College World Series tournaments. The Crimson Tide led the nation in batting average, slugging percentage, runs scored, and stolen bases in 2007.

The Peacock coaching staff will also be instructing at the clinic. Head Coach Christina Missildine was an All Conference player at the University of Mary and directed the Peacocks to a 4th place finish in the Northern Sun Conference last spring. Assistant Coach Monica Gordy was a standout player at Florida Institute of Technology. Gordy was a graduate assistant with Wayne State College last season and helped guide the Wildcats to their first winning season since 2002 as the team shattered their home run record of 13 in establishing the new mark of 30. The Peacock softball team will also be in attendance working with all attendees.

The cost of the clinic is $50 per person, although there are two possible discounts for participants. If 8 or more players from the same team pre-register by December 12th, the cost is $40 per person. If more than one child from the same family attends, then after the first child pays at $50, all other sisters can attend for $45. The cost includes the clinic instruction and an event t-shirt.

There will be two sessions for the Peacock Bat Attack Clinic. Fifth through eighth graders will work from 9:00-11:30 a.m. with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. All high school students (9th-12th) will work from 1:00-3:30 p.m. with registration beginning at 12:30 p.m. Both sessions will take place at the Upper Iowa University Rec Center on campus in Fayette, Iowa.
