NSIC All-Conference Release
The Northern Sun Conference has handed out their Women's Soccer All-Conference Awards and five Peacocks have earned the honor. Amy Campbell (So., Cary, Ill.) and Melissa Heitzman (So., Ames, Iowa) were named to the NSIC First Team. Jennifer Lee (Jr., Kenosha, Wis.) and Erica Baedke (Gowrie, Iowa) were named to the NSIC Second Team, and Lauren Smith (Sr., Flint, Mich.) earned an NSIC Honorable Mention.
| Amy Campbell played in all 21 games for the Peacocks and recorded 11 goals and 3 assists on the season. Campbell tallied 4 game winning goals for the year. The sophomore finished in the top five in four categories in the NSIC; #1 in Shots, #4 in Points, #4 in Goals, Tied for #3 in GW Goals. The Cary-native picked up a hat-trick versus Wayne State Colleege (3 goals) on Oct. 14.
"Amy was fantastic all year for us. She dominated the left flank consistently all year, both in the attack and on defense. She led the conference in shots and led the team with 11 goals. | Melissa Heitzman played in 12 games in goal while starting 9. She logged 909 minutes in goal while allowing 16 goals and making 63 saves. The sophomore finished with a 6-3-1 record in net with 4 shutouts and was a two-time NSIC Women's Soccer Defender of the Week. The Ames-native recorded 11 saves versus Northern State on Sept. 29 and 10 saves versus Winona State on Oct. 7.
"Melissa stepped up big for us and exceeded expectations when Sarah Hiatt went down with an injury. She was twice named conference player of the week and came up with some key saves during our conference run. We are excited to have Heitz back in goal for us the next two years." - Bahl |

| Jennifer Lee played in all 21 games for the Peacocks and registered 3 goals and 9 assists on the season. The junior finished 6th in the NSIC in Shots and 3rd in Assists. The Kenosha-native dished out two assists versus Augustana on Sept. 9.
"'J' was our rock in the middle all season. She consistently won ball after ball for us; she was dominate in the air all year. In addition, she was a vital key to our attack, leading us in assists. Her enthusiasm was evident each time she stepped on the field. We are looking forward to 'J' having a fantastic senior year for us next fall." - Bahl |

| Erica Baedke played in all 21 games for the Peacocks and drove home 6 goals and handed out 8 assists. Two of Baedke's goals were game winners. The senior had her best game versus Augustana when she notched two goals and one assist on Sept. 9.
"Erica was a relentless worker for us all season. Her versatility allowed us to use her in a variety of roles throughout the year. Erica finished the year second in assists and third in goals on the team. 'E' has a terrific understanding for the game and brought a level of sophistication to our attack. Her passion and energy for the game will be greatly missed next year." - Bahl |

| Lauren Smith played in all 21 games for Upper Iowa and dished out 4 assists while scoring 9 goals, two of which were game winners. The senior finished tied for 5th in points and 7th in goals in the NSIC. The Flint-native was named as the NSIC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week once this season. Smith recorded two goals and an assist versus Missouri Western on Aug. 23 and two goals versus Southwest Minnesota State on Oct. 13.
"Lauren did a fantastic job on the right flank for us this season. Her speed and technical creativity created a lot of opportunities for us throughout the year. Lauren was second on the team in goals this year with 9, with many of those being game winners. Lauren always seemed to come up with the "big one" when we need it most. Her wonderful personality and positive spirit will be greatly missed next year." - Bahl |

The UIU Women's Soccer team qualified for postseason play for the second season in a row. The team made the NSIC tournament as the #3 seed this year after posting a 12-8-1 record overall and a 6-2-1 record in the NSIC. Last season, the team qualified as the #8 seed in the NSIC Tournament.
