The Northern Sun Conference has handed out their Women’s Soccer All-Conference Awards and two Peacocks have earned the honor. Jennifer Lee (SO/ Kenosha, WI) was named to the NSIC Second Team, while Christine Dwyer (FR/ Maple Grove, MN) earned an NSIC Honorable Mention.

Coach Chad Leonard had the following thoughts on Lee. “Jenny is a true all-conference selection on the field and in the classroom where she boasts a 4.0 GPA. Jenny is a tremendous ball winner in the middle for us; she has the ability to control the game and dictate the tempo and rhythm we look for in our system. In 2 years she has compiled 12 goals and 31 assists for 55 points. Day-to-day Jenny leads us and is a great role model to the freshman and rest of the team. She is the hub of our wheel in the central midfield and is only a sophomore.”

Leonard continued on Dwyer, “Christine is a tremendous freshman back who can shut down any opposing team’s leading scorer with her size, great speed, and skill. Christine shields the ball better than anyone I have ever coached. She has the ability put her body between the ball and the attacker and start our attack. Christine will only get better over the next three years.”

The honors earned by Lee and Dwyer are the first All-Conference awards ever to be bestowed to Peacock Women’s Soccer student-athletes. The UIU Women’s Soccer team qualified for postseason play for the first time in the program’s ten-year history as the #8 seed in the NSIC Tournament.
