The Peacocks hosted Wayne State College in their home opener this season. The Northern Sun match up featured only two goals, which were scored within seven minutes of each other. The match ended in a 1-1 tie after two overtimes.

The Peacocks were led on offense by Amy Campbell who put two shots on goal with one finding the back of the net in the 33rd minute. The goal was assisted by Jennifer Burnett. Sarah Hiatt was strong in goal again, making eight saves in nine chances. Wayne tied the game at 1 in the 40th minute on a goal by Megan Kenealy.

After the match Coach Leonard said, “Obviously, I would have been happier with a victory, but we worked hard today and earned a tie in conference play. In the end that will be important to our record. The tough thing is getting ready to play tomorrow afternoon. We host Southwest Minnesota State and we need to come back and play with a great effort after the 110 minutes of action today. It felt great to play at home today and we had great fan support as well.”

Upper Iowa will take the field again on Sunday, the 1st, verse Southwest Minnesota State University. Upper Iowa's record is 4-5-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the Northern Sun.
