The UIU Women's Soccer Team traveled to the University of Indianapolis for their 3rd match of the year. The Peacocks were defeated by the Greyhounds 3-0. Upper Iowa's record dropped to 1-2, while Indianapolis's record moved to 3-0.
Indianapolis Senior Sarah Jones scored two goals, which brought her season total to 5, an average of 1.66 per game. Jones scored her goals in the 17th and 67th minutes of the match. Only 2 minutes later a scrum in front of the UIU goalmouth led to the Greyhounds 3rd goal of the match. Indianapolis took 18 shots, while Upper Iowa only fired 5. Sophomore Jennifer Lee (Kenosha, WI) was the only Peacock to take more than one shot (2). Sarah Hiatt (JR/North Platte, NE) got the start in goal and made 8 saves for Upper Iowa. The Peacocks will return to action at Truman State University on the 6th of September. |
