Peacock Head Golf Coach Chad Markuson announced the signing of McKenzie Holthaus, of Onalaska, Wisconsin, to a National Letter of Intent. Holthaus will join the Upper Iowa Women's golf program in the fall of 2008. "We are excited about adding McKenzie to our program. She will add greater depth to the program. She is no stranger to success on the golf course as she has had a wonderful junior career. She has led her high school team to back-to-back state runner up finishes in 2006 & 2007, while earning individual honors of 14th and 8th, respectively," stated Coach Markuson. McKenzie's athletic success carries on in other sports as well; she is a three-sport letter winner. She has led the hockey team to the state tournament placing 2nd two years in a row. She is also active in Show Choir, Spanish Club and the National Honor Society. She will join a former Mississippi Valley Conference foe, Jill Preeshl from Holmen, at Upper Iowa. Preeshl is currently a freshman with the Peacock program. "These two have competed against each other for a couple of years and I know that they are excited to be teammates. We look for McKenzie to challenge for a top spot on the team right away in the fall," said Markuson. McKenzie will study Pre-pharmacy at UIU. She is the daughter of Jeff and Melissa Holthaus. |
