Rochelle Schmidt (SO/Elk River, MN) has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women’s Golfer of the Week. This honor is the third NSIC Player of the Week award earned by an Upper Iowa student-athlete.
Schmidt shot rounds of 76 and 75 to win the Mustang Invite, September 23rd and 24th, hosted by Southwest Minnesota State University. She defeated the runner-up, her twin sister Rachael, by 5 strokes and finished the tournament seven strokes over par. Rochelle and Rachael were the only two golfers to shoot in the 70’s both days at the tournament. Rochelle led the Peacocks to a second place finish in the team standings. Rochelle and the Peacocks will tee it up in the Northern Sun Conference Championship Tournament on October 7th and 8th in Becker, Minnesota. |
