The Upper Iowa women's golf team continued their run to the NCAA North Regional this past Sunday and Monday, Apr. 20-21, as they competed in the two-day Ironwood Collegiate Classic hosted by Nebraska-Omaha at the Ironwood Country Club. The Peacocks entered the tournament having just won their second NSIC Championship in as many years.

The Peacocks finished the tournament in third place carding a 693 as a team. UIU finished 11 strokes behind second-place Nebraska-Omaha and 23 shots behind tournament champions, Augustana (SD).

Rachael Schmidt led the way for the Peacocks with a 163 (83-80) finishing second individually in the tournament. The other half of the Schmidt duo, Rochelle, finished the tournament tied for eighth after shooting a 171 (86-85) over the two days.

Freshman Jill Preeshl finished the tournament with a 179 (91-88) tying for 21st in the field. Finishing just a shot behind her was teammate, Laura Taylor, who shot a 180 (90-90) for the tournament. Rounding out the Peacock scoring was Lindsey Holien as she scored a 195 (98-97). Glenna Meyer also made the trip to Omaha as an individual. Meyer shot a 189 (96-93) for the tournament tying for 34th.

Upper Iowa will close out their regular season this Saturday and Sunday, Apr. 26-27, when they travel to Okoboji, Iowa to compete in the two-day North Region Invite hosted by Nebraska-Omaha.
