Paul Brunsdon was named the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach beginning in August of 2008. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native comes to Upper Iowa from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa.

Brunsdon spent two years, 2006-08, as the assistant women's basketball coach at Briar Cliff. While in Sioux City, Brunsdon's on-court responsibilities included coordinating the team's defense. In 2007-08, the team was ranked #11 in steals/game and #29 in turnover margin, while in 2006-07 the team was ranked #5 in steals/game and #8 in turnovers forced/game. He was also the Head Junior Varsity Coach. In his two years at Briar Cliff, the team had 6 NAIA Academic All-Americans and 4 GPAC All-Conference performers. Off the court, Brunsdon was the recruiting coordinator for the women's program and the athletic department's assistant sports information director.

He began his career as a student assistant at Minot State (1998-2001) before moving on to Bemidji State (2001-03) as a graduate assistant.

Brunsdon made coaching stops at Minot State (2005-06), Bemidji State (2004-05), and College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska (2003-04) as an assistant coach.

Brunsdon also spent one year as a head softball coach at Bemidji State (2004-05).

Brunsdon earned his Masters Degree in Sports Studies at Bemidji State in 2003 and his Bachelors Degree in Education (Physical Education) with minors in Coaching and Mathematics from Minot State in 2001.
