Upper Iowa Head Wrestling Coach Heath Grimm announced the commitment of Carl Broghammer to Upper Iowa for the 2009-10 season. Broghammer, a Manchester, Iowa native, graduated from West Delaware High School where he was a three-time state qualifier. In his three state appearances, the grappler brought home one championship and one seventh place finish. In 2007, Broghammer finished 28-12 and qualified for the 3A State Tournament. The following year, the 189-pounder took home 7th place at the 2A State Tournament after winning the WaMaC title and posting a 30-6 record for the year. In 2008, he competed in the USA Nationals where he was able to claim fifth place in the Junior Division. As a senior, the Hawk wrestler compiled a 40-1 record and won the 2A State Championship at 189 pounds. Broghammer left the West Delaware wrestling program with a career record of 98-19. Broghammer is an active member of the 4-H and has held the offices of vice president and president. He currently serves on the Student Council. Carl is the son of John and Mary Brogammer. |
