The Truman State Men’s Soccer Team extended its unbeaten streak to 17 games by defeating visiting Upper Iowa 5-1.
The Bulldogs dominated the game, out shooting the Peacocks by a 24-6 margin, including a 10-1 advantage in shots on goal. Truman also had five corner kicks on the day, while allowing none.

Truman started the scoring in the 12th minute when Ben Green scored his first collegiate goal off an assist from Dan Gajewski. Green scored his second goal just 21 minutes later when he fired a shot unassisted to give Truman a 2-0 lead.

The score remained 2-0 into halftime. Truman’s Aldo Muniz added the third goal of the day in the 53rd minute. Upper Iowa’s sole bright spot came in the 70th minute when Craig Signorin (SO/ Racine, WI) got past the Bulldogs' defense and slipped a shot past the goalkeeper for the Peacocks' only goal, Daniel Nettleton (SO/Hudson, WI) earned the assist. The Bulldogs added two more goals in the last 15 minutes of the game to close out the one-sided affair.

After the match, Coach Chad Leonard said, “I am disappointed with the effort today. Today was the first time this season these guys did not come out with intensity. We are definitely going to have to make some adjustments before this weekend’s tournament.”

The Peacocks travel to Oakland City University (IN) for a tournament this weekend (Fr-Sa). Games are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. both days.
