The Upper Iowa University Men’s Soccer team fell to 0-2 after another hard fought 4-0 loss to Northwood University.

The Timberwolves found the net early, scoring in the 3rd minute to take a 1-0 lead. Freshman forward Ronnie Napier scored his first of three goals in the game. The Peacocks responded well and worked hard to keep the score unchanged through halftime.

The Timberwolves continued their offensive attack in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals while out shooting the Peacocks 9-1 and earning a 5-1 edge in corner kicks. Napier earned his first career hat trick for the Timberwolves in the victory. Carlos Perez-Villa (SR/Miami, FL) was the lone Peacock to fire more than one shot on goal (2). UIU Keeper Tyler Watkins (SO/Broken Arrow, OK) made 3 saves in the loss.

Coach Leonard said, “It is so physically demanding for these guys to be out here on back to back days and give the amount of effort that they have given. These guys have shown me and each other how mentally tough they are; it will translate to wins as the season continues.”
