The Upper Iowa Men’s Golf Team traveled to Becker, Minnesota to compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship at Pebble Creek Golf Course. The team finished in sixth place after the 36-hole tournament.

The team shot a 335 on day one and found themselves in a tie for sixth place with Mary and only 10 strokes behind 3rd-place Concordia. The Peacocks improved 17 strokes on day two to finish with a 318, but the score was still only fifth best on the day. Upper Iowa completed the championship in sixth place with a total of 653, five strokes behind 5th-place finisher Concordia.

Josh Wells led the Peacocks with a two-day total of 150 (77-73), which was good for 4th place. Wells, thanks to his Top 8 finish, has been named as a Northern Sun Intercollegiate All-Conference Selection. Josh has a 74.5 stroke average through his first ten rounds this fall.

“Josh has taken his game to the next level this year. He has shaved around 5 strokes per round since his freshman year. Obviously, Josh is one of the top golfers in our conference, but I believe that he is one of the top 20 golfers in the region. He has truly been on top of his game this fall," said Coach Chad Markuson.

Matt Ewalt finished with a 164 (81-83), Bryan Peck fired a 168 (86-82), and Tyler Pederson tallied a 171 (91-80).

Upper Iowa will tee it up for the final time this fall on Saturday and Sunday, October 14th and 15th, in Nishua, Minnesota at Deacon’s Lodge in a tournament co-hosted by Upper Iowa and Concordia.
