Upper Iowa sophomores Josh Wells and Craig Signorin finished up their three-round run at the Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in Joplin, Missouri. The pair played well for the second day in a row and moved up in the standings of the NCAA Division II Central Regional in Joplin, Missouri. The Joplin area has been hit by rain and thunderstorms throughout much of the tournament’s practice and championship rounds.
Wells, a River Falls, Wisconsin native, shot a 75 and finished the regional in a tie for 24th. Wells found three birdies on the final day to offset his three bogeys and one double bogey. His three round total of 232 left him +16 for the tournament. Over the three days, he racked up nine birdies including four when he shot his low round (73) on day two. Signorin improved for the third day straight as he fired a 76 on the final day. The Racine native countered his six bogeys with a pair of bogeys to finish four over par on the final day. His three round total of 236 placed him in a tie for 33rd an even twenty strokes above par. Over the three days, he knocked home three birdies and only suffered one double bogey. |
