Upper Iowa sophomores Josh Wells and Craig Signorin teed off early Tuesday morning at the Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in Joplin, Missouri. The pair played well and moved up in the standings after the second round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional in Joplin, Missouri. The Joplin area has been hit by rain and thunderstorms throughout much of the tournament’s practice and championship rounds.
Wells was in the first group of the day and set the pace for the leaders to follow. The sophomore from River Falls, Wisconsin shot a 73, good for sixth best on the day, picking up four birdies to offset his five bogeys. Wells was able to move from a tie for 44th all the way up into a tie at 30th with his great play. Signorin shot 78 in the second group with seven bogeys and a birdie to regain a stroke on his next to last hole. Signorin was able to move from 42nd to a tie for 39th after his solid effort. The two Peacocks will tee off in the first two groups for the final round today in Joplin. The final round start may be delayed a bit as the last of the rain cleared from the area this morning. |
