Upper Iowa sophomores Craig Signorin and Josh Wells had to wait a few hours before getting on the course for round one of the NCAA Division II Central Regional in Joplin, Missouri. The Joplin area had been hit by rain and thunderstorms much of the weekend and early in the day on Monday. By the time the two Peacocks teed off it was 2:00 and the tournament committee had decided to shotgun start the first round. Signorin and Wells finished their wet first round just before darkness fell on Twin Hill Golf and Country Club.

Signorin fired a first round 82 (+10) and finished 43rd on the day, while Wells shot 84 (+12) and finished in a tie for 44th. The two golfers teed off early today on the back nine and are currently playing well. Wells bogeyed #10, but birdied #11 and #15 to move to one under par through his first six holes. Signorin was even through three holes, but bogeyed #14 and #15 to move to +2 through six holes.
