Wells and Signorin Complete Regional Tournament

Josh Wells and Craig Signorin finished their first seasons at the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Central Regional Tournament Wednesday afternoon. The two freshmen were the first Peacocks to ever compete in a D-II regional golf tournament.
 
Wells finished tied for 23rd at the three-day event at Prairie Bluff Golf Club in Lockport, Ill., with an 11-over 227. He opened with a 1-over 73, and was in fifth place after Monday's first round. His round included a pair of birdies.
 
Tuesday, Wells collected one birdie on his way to a 4-over 76. Despite shooting a 6-over 78 Wednesday, Wells closed his final round strong. He birdied three of the final four holes to close the tournament.
 
Signorin finished 43rd overall with a 242. He struggled Monday, carding an 87 with one birdie in the round. Signorin rebounded with a 3-over 75, which included a pair of birdies, Tuesday. He picked up another birdie Wednesday en route to an 80 in the final round Wednesday.
 
Winona State's Troy Merritt won the Central Region with a 6-under 210. Winona State won the team regional with an 865.
