Sophomores Josh Wells (River Falls, Wisconsin) and Craig Signorin (Racine, Wisconsin) have been selected to compete in the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Central/Great Lakes Super Regional in Joplin, Missouri. The Super Regional is being hosted by Missouri Southern State University and will be played at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club from May 7-9.
Wells currently has a 75.77 scoring average and was selected as the third individual for the Central Region half of the Super Regional. Wells earned NSIC All-Conference honors in the fall after placing sixth at the NSIC Championship. Wells has five finishes in the top five this season in thirteen rounds of competition; the top finish came at Upper Iowa’s home tournament as Wells finished in a tie for first. Signorin currently has a 76.30 scoring average and was selected as the fifth individual for the Central Region half of the Super Regional. Signorin has three finishes in the top five this season in ten rounds of competition; Signorin has finished as the runner up in two tournaments including last week’s triangular at Winona State. The two Peacocks will join 16 teams and eight other individuals to make up the field of 90 golfers that will compete for a bid to the NCAA Division II National Championship. The Nationals will be hosted by Grand Valley State University at The Meadows in Allendale, Michigan from May 22-25. The top team from each region within the super regional and the top individual not with a team from each super regional (regardless of region) will advance to the National Championship. |
