Final Results
The Peacock men's golf team finished their second Northern Sun Men's Golf Conference Championship in 3rd place. The team finished in sixth place last year, but back to back 304's by Upper Iowa fueled their run at the title. Winona State University won the championship with a 575 (285-290), while Bemidji State University's 299 helped the Beavers pass the Peacocks on day two to take second place by two strokes (606/ 307-299). Matt Dahlke earned NSIC All-Conference Honors as he tied for sixth place with a 151 (75-76). Dahlke led a strong Upper Iowa run in Becker, Minnesota. Adam Winans followed his 78 on day one with a 76 on day two to finish in 16th place, while Josh Wells improved on his 78 on day one by a stroke to shoot 155 and tie for 17th place. Andy Thomas couldn't match the 73 he shot on day one and carded a 158 for the championship. Tucker Bayler came through on day two and shot a 75, UIU's low round on the day, to finish with a 159. Matt Dahlke played the par fives at 4.75 (-2) on the weekend which was tied for tops in the field. Wells was one of three golfers with an eagle, while Winans tied for sixth in pars with 23 and Dahlke was ninth with 22. Upper Iowa's fall season completed with the NSIC Championship and will resume this spring. |
