Findlay, Ohio--The Peacocks completed their play at the NCAA Division II Central Regional today at Red Hawk Run Golf Course in Findlay, Ohio. Upper Iowa shot 312 led by Josh Wells, who carded a 74. The team, who came into the regional as the #6 seed, finished the regional in seventh place in the standings after 54 holes. The men's golf team became the first men's team in Upper Iowa's short Division II history to earn an invited spot at an NCAA Regional. Wells' 74 included three birdies, two of which came on the final three holes of the day. Both Matt Dahlke and Adam Winans shot 76, four over par, in their last 18 holes of the regional. Tucker Bayler turned in an 86, while Craig Signorin finished his run at the regionals with an 87. With no seniors in the program, the Peacocks have tasted what it's like to play with the best teams in the region and will work hard to return to the NCAA Regional next year as a team. The group of five UIU golfers at this year's regional includes four juniors and one freshman. |
