         <description><![CDATA[St. Paul, Minn. - Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Commissioner Butch Raymond has announced the results from the NSIC Board of Directors teleconference call dealing with expansion. The Board of Directors, consisting of the ten NSIC Presidents/Chancellors, voted to expand the NSIC to 14 teams with the addition of Augustana College (Sioux Falls, S.D.), the University of Minnesota Duluth (Duluth, Minn.), Minnesota State University Mankato (Mankato, Minn.) and Saint Cloud State University (Saint Cloud, Minn.). These four institutions, which were all voted on individually, will begin participating within the NSIC in the 2008-09 season.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[The Division II All-Region teams presented by Ping and the Golf Coaches Association of America, or GCAA, have been released and one Peacock has earned a spot. Adam Winans (LaGrange, Ind.) was named to the All-Central Region Team.<p>Winans led the Peacocks' seventh place finish in the 2008 Central Regional with rounds of 76-70-76 for a 54-hole total of 222 (+6). The three day effort placed the junior in fifth place. Winans registered one eagle, eight birdies, and 31 pars; shooting par or better on 40 of the 54 holes.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[The Upper Iowa Athletics Department climbed three spots this year in the NSIC All-Sports Standings. The Peacocks ranked 6th this year, only five points away from 4th place U-Mary and four and a half points away from 5th place MSU Moorhead. Upper Iowa's success is due, in large part, to its three NSIC Championships in Wrestling, Women's Tennis, and Women's Golf. But 6th place could not have been attained without Baseball (2nd), Women's Soccer (3rd), and Men's Golf (3rd), who all had very successful seasons as well.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[Findlay, Ohio--Upper Iowa opened play in NCAA Division II Central Regional today at Red Hawk Run Golf Course in Findlay, Ohio. The Peacocks shot a 310 and sit in fifth place in the team standings after the first round. UIU trails the leader, Wabash, by only 12 strokes.<p>Matt Dahlke and Adam Winans both shot a 76 on the day to lead the team, while Josh Wells carded a 77. Tucker Bayler came into the clubhouse with an 81 after scoring a birdie on his final hole. Craig Signorin rounded out the Peacocks' scoring with an 82. Dahlke and Winans tied two other Northern Sun Conference golfers for low round by a conference member; Josh Wilhelm of Winona State and Jacob Sanders of UM, Crookston both shot four-over as well.          <description><![CDATA[The Peacock men's golf team rounded out their regular season this past Wednesday (Apr. 23) as they traveled to Rochester, Minnesota to compete in the Concordia Triangular hosted by Concordia-St. Paul. Upper Iowa finished second out of the three competing squads, firing a 321 as a team, and finished just five strokes behind tournament champion, Winona State.<p>Junior Matt Dalhke finished the tournament tied for for the low score of the day, carding a 75 (35-40) for the tournament. The poll combines the resources of Golf World magazine and the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) to determine its rankings. The complete results appeared in the April issue of Golf World.<p>The first NCAA Regional Polls for both women's and men's golf were also released. The Peacock women's golf team was named as the #3 team in the North Region.          <description><![CDATA[The Peacock men's golf team got back on the course this past weekend hosting two one-day tournaments held at the Amana Colonies Golf Course in Amana, Iowa. The tournament featured eight teams in addition to the host-Peacocks including four Northern Sun schools and three more future-NSIC teams. Upper Iowa won the first day's tournament with a 311 and finished fourth on day two with a 318, twelve strokes behind St. Cloud State. The Huskies won Sunday's tournament with a 306.<p>The awards and trophies at the tournament were presented based on two-day totals, which meant Matt Dahlke finished as the weekend's medalist. Upper Iowa finished in second place on the weekend, just three strokes behind Minnesota State, Mankato.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[The Peacock men's golf team of traveled to Bolivar, Missouri this past weekend to find a playable course as the northern Midwest has finally began the healing process from a harsh winter. Upper Iowa faced the Warriors of Winona State in a one-day tournament this past Sunday at the Silo Ridge Golf Course. While each squad had their varsity teams playing each other, the Warriors and Peacocks also had a few individuals at the course getting a competitive round in.
