Dwayne Croker, a junior from Immokalee, Florida, has earned three more post-season honors for his play on the football field this fall. Croker has been named to the 2006 NCAA Division II All-American honorable mention team as a Wide Receiver by D2Football.com, the 2006 NCAA Division II All-Northwest Region’s second team as a Wide Receiver by D2Football.com, and the 2006 NCAA Division II All-Northwest Region’s third team as an All-Purpose performer by Don Hansen’s Football Gazette.
Croker, a 2006 Northern Sun first team All-Conference performer, finished the season with 66 receptions for 1,023 yards receiving and 6 touchdowns. He also rushed 15 times for 77 yards and returned 14 kickoffs for 282 yards (20.1 yard average). Croker’s best game of the season came against the University of Wisconsin-Stout where he caught 14 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns, while setting UIU records for receptions in a game and receiving yards in a game. Upper Iowa finished the season with a 3-8 record overall and a 3-5 mark, tied for 6th, in their inaugural season in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Head coach Mike Knoll said, “These honors are well deserved. Dwayne is one of our most productive players. He has matured both physically and mentally and his performance level has increased many times over. In our offense, Dwayne will only improve in his senior season next year.” Upper Iowa University, located in Fayette, is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). |
