The Upper Iowa University baseball team finished the 2008 campaign with their heads held high after their season ended a bit sooner than they would have liked. The team entered the NSIC Baseball Tournament as the #2 seed after taking second in the standings with a 24-8 record. The #1 seed went to Wayne State, who only clinched it on the final day of the season with a 24-6 record in conference. The Peacocks lost their first game of the tournament, but bounced back with a win over Winona State, their fifth of the season. The Peacocks ranked 6th this year, only five points away from 4th place U-Mary and four and a half points away from 5th place MSU Moorhead.
