Kent McElvania, grew up in Waterloo, Iowa, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Economics from Buena Vista University in 1975. McElvania played golf for Buena Vista. McElvania served Buena Vista as an admission counselor and Director of Admission for 10 years after he graduated in 1975. He came to Upper Iowa University in 1985 as head of admission and financial aid. In January of 2003, McElvania was named Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at UIU. Kent and his wife Lois reside in West Union, IA.
