Athletic Training Education Program

Forms for Student Athletes

The key to success in the Upper Iowa University Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) is hands-on experience, complemented by the variety and strong academic content of coursework offered. Athletic Training Students (ATS) are involved in preventing and caring for injuries, record keeping, rehabilitating and conditioning athletes, as well as fitting and maintaining protective athletic equipment.

ATS have an opportunity to work with NCAA Division II men's and women's intercollegiate athletics. Upon acceptance into the program, the ATS is placed into a clinical experience rotation. During these clinical experiences, the students will be assigned to either an approved clinical instructor (ACI) or a clinical instructor (CI), who will provide them a variety of educational experiences. Clinical assignments may be either on or off campus.

The students are exposed to many aspects of organization and administration of the ATEP while utilizing the Certified Athletic Training Staff as a resource. This wide range of experience enhances the total development of each student's skills.
